Shadows are the often-unconscious parts of ourselves, our inner parts, that yearn for expression in the physical world. They are often thought of as negative traits. I was in a bar in San Francisco once after attending a sexuality workshop when the woman I had just met and was talking to asked what I was doing in her country (in a nice way).
